Bad Alibi Distillery

In August of 2022, the CURA Board approved their first project in URA Area #2 for the Bad Alibi Distillery. The Distillery will focus on the production of distilled spirits, with an emphasis on whiskey, that will bring together the culture of Western Colorado through storytelling within the products themselves. The business aims to market Northwest Colorado, while making an exceptional product that the community can call its own. The founding partners of Bad Alibi Distillery purchased the property located at 406 Yampa Avenue, in which they intend to remodel the interior by transitioning the 3 bay garage and back storage areas into the production facility and opening the remaining portion of the building for the tasting room, kitchen, restaurant and creamery. The exterior will be revitalized to include new paint, new windows and doors and new seating on the south and east sides of the buildings. Once the $1.7 million dollar investment has been made on behalf of the Bad Alibi Distillery, the CURA entities agreed to share $660,000 in sales and property tax revenues that will be generated as a result of the project over the next 25 years.
